some horse hair raku

I rakued these little bowls last week in my pottery class. I had done Raku in middle school but didn't really like it. This time however, I discovered that I didn't have to glaze the pottery. Instead, I took horse hair and touched it to the sides right as I pulled it out of the kiln. It was crazy to see it sizzle and make those crazy black lines all over the piece! Loved it! Its just too bad you can't eat out of raku-fired stuff...

I love raku! Those bowls turned out so neat! It really is too bad that you can't eat out of raku-fired dishes :(
